Car Week, held annually in August, transforms the Carmel-Monterey area into the heart of the automotive world, culminating in the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to experience Car Week alongside Rolex, a long-time supporter of some of the event's most iconic moments. Over four days, I witnessed breathtaking automobiles and admired an endless stream of replica Rolex watches, each a symbol of excellence akin to the cars on display. During this unforgettable experience, I attended four of the most high-profile events of the week, starting with the Pebble Beach Tour D'Elegance and culminating in vintage racing at Laguna Seca. The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the Rolex awarded to the Best of Show winner at the main event on Sunday. For any car enthusiast - or even a casual observer - Car Week offers a truly unique experience. My adventure began with the Pebble Beach Tour D'Elegance, an event that offers the public a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with more than 150 stunning automobiles set to be showcased at the Concours on Sunday. For those who want to witness these magnificent machines in motion, the Tour is the perfect - and free - option. The 70-mile journey winds through scenic Highway 1 to Big Sur before returning to Pebble Beach, giving spectators a chance to see the cars in action. Since 2007, replica Rolex has been the primary partner for the Tour, an event that draws throngs of onlookers who line the roads from 17-Mile Drive to Highway 1, eager to catch a glimpse of both the cars and the replica watches that complement them. Armed with my camera, I wandered among the cars before hopping into a 1940 Derrin-bodied Packard.
